McGill’s Community Band performs every summer in Houlton, Maine.
Founded in 1985, McGill’s band was the fulfillment of Dave McGillicuddy’s dream. In its first season the band consisted of about 35 members of the local community.
Today, numbers hover around 60, including several founding members as well as others from around the county and state plus several members from Canada. Today the band has the privilege of performing in the Houlton Amphitheater located in Monument Park.
Concert-goers can enjoy many genres of music at the summer concerts including hits from broadway, classic rock, Sousa marches, soundtracks, classical, and jazz. Several outstanding soloists from the band can be heard nearly every week.
Concerts begin in mid June and continue through late August. All concerts begin at 7pm and typically last about an hour, including a brief intermission.
All concerts are weather-permitting.
